The Youth Engagement Day in Poultry Farming is a specially designed event to involve young people in the agricultural sector, particularly in poultry farming. The objective is to educate, inspire, and empower the younger generation to explore careers in farming, understand sustainable practices, and appreciate the role of poultry farming in community development.

The day begins at 09:00 AM with an introductory session where participants are welcomed and introduced to the association’s goals, the significance of poultry farming in Acoua, and the day’s program. This session emphasizes the importance of youth involvement in agriculture and how knowledge and innovation can transform the sector.

From 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM, the first session focuses on basic poultry management for beginners. Trainers introduce young attendees to poultry breeds, housing requirements, feeding techniques, and hygiene practices. The session includes demonstrations and interactive discussions to ensure that participants gain hands-on understanding of essential farming practices.

A short break from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM allows participants to interact informally, ask questions, and share their interests in farming. Networking at this stage encourages collaboration and peer learning.

From 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM, participants will engage in a practical workshop where they will learn to prepare feed, set up poultry housing, and monitor the health of chickens. This hands-on approach ensures that theoretical knowledge is immediately reinforced through practical experience.

Lunch is scheduled from 01:00 PM to 01:45 PM, giving participants an opportunity to socialize and discuss their observations and experiences from the morning sessions.

The afternoon session, from 01:45 PM to 03:00 PM, focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship in poultry farming. Young participants will explore opportunities for starting their own small-scale poultry farms, implementing modern and sustainable practices, and developing business plans. Trainers will provide advice on marketing, resource management, and connecting with local markets.

The event concludes from 03:00 PM to 03:30 PM with a reflection and feedback session, allowing participants to share their learning experiences, provide suggestions, and discuss ways to stay engaged in poultry farming. Certificates of participation are awarded to all attendees, acknowledging their involvement and commitment to agricultural development.
